In India, there are four main season------Summer,Rainy,Winter and Spring. Among them the Rainy season is the most important season. We eagerly wait for it. It usually starts in the end of june and continues till the end of August. It follows the smmer season. People get relief from the heat of summer.
During the rainy seasons, the sky is usually covered with clouds. Sometimes, the rain continues for many days. The sun cannot be seen during that period. The rivers and canals fill with water. The crop fields fill with water. The trees becomes greener and beautiful. Peacock dance when they see clouds. Nature is at the peak of its beauty. We see sweet smelling flowers everywhere.
There are many advantage of this season. It is very essential for agriculture. Agriculture production of the whole year depends on timely rainfall. The rivers and ponds get filled with water. This water is used as drinking water. Children play in rain and become happy on seeing the rainbow. People go out for picnics with their relatives and friends.
But, sometimes the rain season bring misery with it. Heavy rainfall causes floods. This takes away lives of many people. Many peple lose their houses. Floods damage crops. Many harmful diseases like malaria,cholera and diarrhoea spread during floods. Some roads get washed away. Rail tracks get filled with water. Heavy rainfall disrupts the communication system.
Despite all these, the rainy season is welcomed by all. It gives new life to plants and animals. It relives us from heat. It cleans our sorroundings. Timely rainfall is very necessary for our environment. We should welcome this season with happies.
