People make great preparations for diwali.They get their houses white-washed. They clean their house and furniture. They buy new cloths for themselves. On the night of Diwali they earthen lamps,calndle and electric bulbs. Rows of earthen lamps and candle present a beautiful sight. Children buy toys. Some people make a display of fireworks. In the night people Worship goddess Lakshmi and distibute sweets.
Diwali has got great importance. All the houses repaired and cleaned on this occasion. Diwali is a festival of joy. It makes people forget their cares and anxieties for some time.
Many people lose a lot of money is gambling on this occasion. The fireworks cause injuries to some people.
